Default On the quest for an alarm system.

Hi guys,

Its me Tim again.

i want to get your experience on what is the most used alarm system for harley motorcycle.

I already checked online the gorilla 9100 at 177$ on amazon.

what are your ideas?

my setup:

2 disc brake locks, one front one rear just to delay the thieves.

I want the alarm to have siren and to let me know that someone is messing with the bike so i can go out.

regards,

Tim

I think HD sells their own plug and play alarm siren for around $100.
AFAIK, each new HD comes with a security system.

Give us some info on your bike. Do you have the security system already installed or not? If so, the Piezo alarm is the cheapest/easiest way to go.

security is not standard on all models, but it is a $395 option. that does not include the siren. that will run you an extra $100 (app). or you can go a little higher and get the pager as well (another $100 or so)

My bike is a used 2010 Harley 48 i only have 1 fob key. i don't think there is a alarm on it as does not flash lights or anything else when you move the bike while locked.

thats why i am asking for ideas on what to put on it.

regards,
Tim

if you don't have security, you shouldn't have a fob. if you have a fob that looks like the attached, then you have security (unless the dealer just gave you a fob for no reason). in some rare cases, people have gotten bikes from the dealer with security that hasn't been activated.

I had an older Scorpio system on a previous bike and liked it. It would alarm if someone was dicking with the ignition, moving the bike or even getting too close to it (perimeter sensor) and you could select any or all of these features. It came with a fob to remotely arm or disarm. The fob would also squawk if the alarm want off. Don't like the HD factory alarm at all. Some newer models work thru your smart phone.

that is definitely not a Harley fob. you may already have some aftermarket unit stuck somewhere on your bike.

good luck
