Guess I'm Just A Softy!
It is with sadness that I announce that I am no longer the proud owner of a Road King! After 8 years of riding the King I decided that it no longer fulfilled my wants and desires.
THEREFORE -
It is with great joy that I announce that I am now the proud owner of a new Heritage! Listening to the advise of some on here I ventured a trip today to Treasure Coast Harley, in Stuart, FL. I presented to them a scenario of what I wanted, let them evaluate my ride (Road King) as a trade in and sat there while the wheels turned and pens wrote and salesmen made their pitches. I sort of knew that what I was asking for was some what unrealistic but as much as I wanted to ride away on a new bike, I was resigned to think my worse case scenario, (riding away on my King) would happen!
THEY WOULDN'T LET IT HAPPEN!
As I slowly rose from my seat to take the ride back home, the salesman came back over and said "if we can make the deal happen with your numbers , would you buy it now?" I just held out my hand and said yes!
I have NO idea of how or why I got the deal I got but I can tell you that I was amazed. They kept saying that because they were the new owners (only about 1 month) they were committed to pumping as many bikes out as fast as they could to meet corporate expectations.
I'm thinking that I didn't go in with any expectations of getting what I wanted and pretty much conveyed that to them during negotiations. My numbers were set in stone and in the end they did the deed.
Pictures will follow over the next few days!
