Default Stage 1 for a California Softail Deluxe

Hello all,

Wanting to do a Stage 1 on my wife's 2009 Softail Deluxe.

It just happens to be a California bike with the Evaporative Emissions Control module. I am guessing it will need to be removed. Looking at the Owners
Service Manual I see this "box" can be removed but I am concerned about the two hoses, one running to the canister from the throttle body and one running from the gas tank to the canister.

What do I plug these holes with?

Can this even be done? Anyone done a Stage 1 on a California bike?
Do I even need to remove? How will this effect the dyno tune if I leave it all intact?

thanks to all!!

The EVAP system has nothing to do with your bike's performance. Also the stage one upgrade is both EPA and CARB approved. Leave it there unless you don't like the look.

Thanks for the feedback. Tuning will be with the Screaming Eagle Super Tuner.
