Beautiful Day - Broke down

Beautiful Day - Broke down
I've always told people how helpful the majority of people in the motorcycle community are. Never leave a rider stranded.
Well today I went out for another test ride on the 89 FLHTCU to test the rear suspension, other than that everything else pretty much checked out OK. I put a pair of Harley Premium Adjustables on the back (because they were free) and they were really stiff. Come to find out it's mainly because the rating starts at 220 and I'm barely 180 so I put a 15lb dumbbell in each bag and went for a test run.. Suspension better with added weight.
Now for the not so good part. I always carry a tool kit for myself and to help others. This being a late addition I haven't put a set together and I had just degreased and cleaned the inside of the bags, so nothing in them except dumbbells wrapped in towels. Well 4 miles from home turned on a crossover road that connects 2 rural highways. Showered down, bike took off, I shifted it popped, and I was dead in the water. No power.
I called my son, an hour away, and he headed my way. No tools I couldn't pull bags (locknuts), seat, or anything. Not a bike in sight. Finally a guy in a truck stopped, said he lived down the road and would be back. Showed up in an Orange and Black golf car, with Bar & Shield on it, with tools and a DVM. 10 minutes of taking off covers and testing I found power lead off the starter pulled out of the terminal. He had a 5/16" terminal in his kit. Crimped connected powered up and ready to roll. Finished and my son rolled up.
Still say Motorcycle people are the best. No bikes went by, but finally a motorcycle guy stopped. As always I'll continue to help and hopefully not need the help. Life's Good.

Wait, a guy in a orange and black golf cart with a bar and shield logo shows up with a toolbox with everything needed to get your bike up and running? Is that what I just read?
And he didn't bring you a cold beer too?
Boy, things sure ain't like they used to be.
Haha, glad you found a link to the past and a fellow biker brother to get you back on the road.
