Default Hearing Protection

I ride a Breakout so that mean no wind protection.
When I feel like hitting the twisties or doing long distances I wear my full face helmet which handles the wind noise.
But when I just want to cruise around town or anything within 100 miles I wear my beanie helmet. And as the weather is getting alot warmer it will soon turn into my everyday helmet.
What do you use for hearing protection?

I've used earplugs made for firing guns and have for years. They're in a pack of 3 and you can get them at any drugstore. They're rubber and easy to clean. They also come with a cord to keep them together but I cut it off because it's transmits sound like the string on a tin can.

Earplugs, either my custom made ones or simple foam plugs, either work great for me.

what?

did someone say something?

huh?

I don't use anything but I grew up on the back of a hog and tried to stick my head as close to every hard rock blastin' speaker I could... so, yea. I "hear" earplugs work great for some people. I bought some of these Mighty Plugs for my ol' lady... but that's because I apparently snore like a Harley too. They're pretty cool.

I've got a bro who's always jamming out to tunes. I think he digs those "beats by dre" or something, headset. I honestly prefer to hear what's going on around me and the voices in my head keep me entertained.

I'll tell you, it's real folks! I took a 4 day trip back over Easter and when I got home (several hours after arriving) I went into the study to use the computer. I have a old tower I built myself with miserably loud fans - especially the one on top of the processor. Sat down at the desk (where I am now) and presumed we must have had a power failure while I was gone as the computer was off. When I went to power it up all the lights were on and it was running fine. I couldn't hear either fan (the processor or the power supply). I could however hear voices and have normal conversations - it was strange. Later that evening, I went to shower and couldn't hear the bathroom fan either! A google search said my hearing should return in 16-24 hours (thankfully it did), but also said that if I keep doing this eventually it won't. I'll wear protection from now on!

This is what I use. With the yellow part removed. They work great and are very comfortable. I wear them with my FF helmet. Whether you think the wind noise is bad or not, it's still gonna cause hearing damage.

Foam ear plugs for me as well. Work for shooting, work for riding/wind noise, can hear the important things. Cheap and readily available.

I got tired of sticking ear plugs in every time I went for a ride.
Bought a 3/4 helmet, problem solved.

I don't sweat any more with that, than the half helmet here in Florida. That said, in the Summer, if you were ridin nekid, you're still gonna sweat, regardless.
