Recent non-harley dealer experience

Yep, downstairs is interesting. You have to climb over old shovel carcasses to see what is behind them. Some interesting pieces down there. Anyway, good luck to you on your search. I'm not actively searching for another harley, but I still look. Right now everyone has spring time $ signs in their eyes. Used prices are way up right now in our area. Maybe give it a few months and enjoy the king, then keep it and buy another. What is better than 1 bike: 2.

Accessories add practically no added value to a bike. What you can "build" it for is irrelevant. If you want the most money possible, strip the accessories off the bike and sell them individually. Then sell the bike privately.
This is NOT a seller's market right now. There is a large glut of used bikes. There are plenty of 4 year old garage queens available everywhere. The buyers will dictate fair value. Not the seller.

Stoney i was just on a 103. Its way behind my 95. Either you didnt read or your trolling. I dont understand where some of these numbers are coming from as far as values. If i could have bought mine for 3500 i would have, believe me. 3500 around here buys you a project in need of a motor or reconstruction. Even the classifieds on here arebt anywhere near that low.

You are trading it in! No one is going to give you the price you think it is worth on a trade in. If you don't want to sell it yourself you are only guessing a value. There are a hundred bikes out there for sale for every buyer. The bottom fell out of the bike market years ago. Garages are full of bikes that guys think are worth more than they are. If your bike is so good keep it and be happy. You are buying a bike from a dealer who isn't selling a fraction of the bikes he was selling 10 years ago and he's got overhead. You pay for that convenience and you will pay a pretty good chunk of $. You are the one who's gonna have to negotiate the deal, no one here can do it for you. You are the one who has limited yourself to dealers only so that's the game you gotta play. I bought more than a few bikes, hot rods and sports cars on E-bay and always came out way ahead on the deals, but that's just my experience. I have also bought private, but remember 9 out of 10 ain't gonna let you take a test ride on their bike. In 55 years of buying over 100 bikes I never bought a new one and only bought one from a dealer. P.S. don't go by listed prices for things. That is the price they have not sold it for.

Im not asking anyone to negotiate for me. Im asking if this is typical for most dealers or if this dealer is trying to screw me alot or a little. I know im going to take a hit for convenience but holy smokes. I woulda been fine with like 6500 when theyre going to put it on their lot for 7500-9.
