King to Glide
Good day fellow riders. Must be a Spring thing but I'm actually debating on going over to the dark side and getting a new Road Glide. Not that I'm a marathon distance rider (although I could become one), but I'm thinking more comfort for what could likely be my last new bike. I'd like to read your thoughts on this; especially from riders that have gone from Road King to Road Glide!
These new Glides with a slightly redesigned fairing look and sound pretty good. Any thoughts ppl?
Thanks for your time

Road Glide
A bunch of people told me that the Road Glide was the best riding bike HD made...Years later, I finally bought one and found out for myself. Now I'm on my second one and it is the best HD I have ever owned.
As for the looks, I have really grown to like the looks and as they say " the proof of the pudding is in the eating" or the riding in this case.

I have owned a RG, an EG & RK. My opinion is that the RG with the Shark Nose fairing is easier to handle at low speeds and rides smoother at highway speeds. The EG Batwing fairing seemed to offer more protection from wind and rain, probably because its closer to the rider, but it also was affected more by cross winds. For some reason, my overall favorite is the RK. Its not perfect at anything, but it does everything well.

I went from a King to street glide...
I knew I wanted a fairing, stereo and gps but I had to rent both the street glide and the road glide for a day each to figure out which one really suited me.
In any case, the only thing I really miss about the king is the ability to take the windshield off. I didn't do that very often but it made the King feel like a whole different bike and it made the rides kinda special.
Overall though, the benefits of the fairing outweigh that, even though I do miss it every once in a while.
