Default California freeway lane change crash

Rider looks ok, his Dyna isn't.
Collision was caused by the cage driver illegally crossing a solid double line into the car pool lane. Cage could be a rental, driver has no clue.
Video should be shown as public service nationwide.

Default Freeway Incident

Yeah, the car had Illinois plates...a kid in a new wonderland without a clue.

This is one of the reasons I installed one of these:
. Saved me the first time I headed out after the install (a driver started to pull out from a driveway, did a double-take and stopped.) I had already grabed the brakes just in case.

Ho. Lee. ****.

All things considered, that ended about as well as the rider could have hoped for.

Doesn't make it right but if bike wasn't going so much faster than trafffic might not have happened. Need to be vigilant at all times.

the car crossed a double yellow line, didn't look and had no business being there. The rider was going a reasonable speed, for the traffic in his lane. You cannot cross double yellow line, driver is going to be sited for a couple violations, and will lose the upcoming civil suit.

Guy is going too fast. You must expect idiots to do exactly that. Most people that get into accidents don't ride defensively. The only time you can go yee haaaa is when no traffic is around and the terrain is wide open so that animals can be seen well ahead of time. Sorry but those are the limits friends.
