I know it won't sound like a great question, But on a 03 Fatboy (carb) can it do any kind of damage or slight wear on engine in anyway to run pipes without baffles in them ? I know more run straight pipes than not it seem's but just wanted the fact's for long term use, Thank's

I ran a set of open drag pipes on my 02 Super Glide, and many people do the same thing. The two problems with open pipes are
1) You will lose power where you need it most, in the low end and mid range, which is where 95% of street riding occurs. Open pipes are called drag pipes, meaning for the drag strip where you are wide open throttle. So unless you're drag racing your bike youre not going to like them. I ran them for 2 or 3 weeks on my Super Glide then replaced them with some V&H Short Shots
2) They are LOUD. Very loud. Annoyingly loud to most folks. Your neighbors will hate you, your riding buddies will not want to ride with you and you yourself will get tired of the loud droning in a very short time.

YMMV but I have seen it over and over again, guys buy a set of drag pipes and a month later end up spending even more $$ on a different set of quality baffled pipes.
