I guess, was just hoping someone had an answer that was quicker than researching, that is what I think my problem is and I see after searching there are some products actually made to correct this specifically , Trac max by Thundermax is one and there are a couple more targeting the big front tire crowd to correct the rotation speed differences. This tells me there are issues which are correctable when the ECM gets thrown a curve ball as per tire rotation, Tracmax is targeted at the 14+ but I will call and see if I can get any answers for earlier years. So far all very interesting, thanks for the help, I'll try to post if I get things corrected. Silly me, LOL, upon further research I find the Power Vision tuner ,which I am running, has speedo calibration settings, I will start there today !http://thunder-max.com/Products/TracMax.aspx

i'm not sure that this is the case. we switched wheels/tires from the stock 18/16 on my wife's bike to the cvo sized 19/18 and the bike threw no codes. as long as you are using the stock Harley sized tires, the 16, 17, 18 and 19 inch front tires are all virtually the same overall diameter. for the rear, the stock 180/65-16 tire has an overall diameter of 25.2'', while the new 180/55-18 has an overall diameter of 25.8'', increasing the circumference of the tire by 1.8'', and the diameter by .6'' (raising your rear .3''). i'm not convinced that that is enough of a difference to cause the ecm to throw a code, especially given that hd uses those same sizes.

I'm not sure it's the case either. But, if the tire change is the only change the OP made to his bike, it's the logical starting point. In any case, it'll be interesting to see what the OP's solution is.

Default ABS Calibration

Ok, solved the ABS problem for those following. I purchased the rear wheel off of Ebay which was a "new" never used display wheel with the bearings installed, the correct ABS bearing was installed as per the part #'s. The problem turned out to be that the ABS bearing was installed with the part numbers to the outside as you can read them which is what I would have thought to be the correct install, turns out the numbers are installed inward as the correct way which is reflected in the code read, as for the tach code it disappeared with the rear sensor code ! All is well, no ABS light on and no codes all because of a incorrectly installed rear ABS bearing ! Hope this helps someone else also. Thanks for the help and remarks !

Great, but...

This a lesson on the value of including pictures (even while installed, you can make out the incorrect Orange Out).

This could of /should of been answered on the Post#2 when someone saw the installed bearing. You only have to see it once
