Default New headlight ?'s

Greetings,

Looking to replace the headlight on my FLD (7" headlight) to one of the following 2 choices (I know there are lot of cheaper ones out there.....not interested). Of the 2 choices, which do you recommend and why? Also, is a different headlamp/nacelle ring necessary?

JW Speaker Evolution 2 LED

Trucklite High Intensity LED

Thanks!

I use the Trucklite because of price.

They both are excellent. The JW Speaker may be slightly better, but difference in price made the Truck Lite best bang for the buck.

This is the best price around.

I went for the three piece kit for my Heritage.

If you don't care about money, the JW Speaker adaptive headlight is the best out there due to reacting to how the bike leans, but the price of that particular one leaves a lump in my throat, at around $800.

Great info!!!! Thank you! Did you have to get a longer headlight trim ring or were you able to use the stock one?

Did you need to change them or did you want to?

Looked like **** without the frenched rings because the headlight stuck out a little past the regular trim ring.

I would have bought the Truck Light but at the time, they only had a large LED and my bike takes a smaller one. They may have them now but I bought the Day Maker a couple of years ago.

rauchman,

i purchased the jw speaker 8700 evo 2, p/n 0549701 in black from 4-wheel parts about 6 weeks ago for $226 with free shipping.

this price was better than amazon, and 4-wheel parts is an authorized retailer of jw speaker lights; this made me feel more comfortable, as there are a lot of fakes out there. lots of people installing these in their jeeps i suppose.

you're in luck, just checked 4-wheel parts, still on sale in black at $226

the chrome face is @ $278, p/n 0549711

i've not ridden with it at night yet, so i cannot speak about brightness. my understanding is that these lights are some of the best.

installed a 7 incher on my '13 StreetBob. Had to play with different mounts and bezel to eliminate buffeting.

check out my thread, 7" Headlight on Street Bob; Nasty Wind in Face

I've had the Trucklite for a couple of years. Great light, broad white beam. Really shows up next to the "yellow" passing lamps. As mentioned, the light sticks out a good 1/2" further than stock. I use the "Frenched" rings and it is hardly noticeable.
