Default Dealer Dyno tune, worth it?

I added new pipes and need to get my bike tuned, the local Harley Dealer wants $650 to do a full performance tune with dyno. (250 for tune + 4 hours labor) What does Harley's full performance tune all entail? is it worth it or would I be better off getting a tuner and taking it to an independent shop?

A dealership service department should always be the last resort especially for tuning, if you have a good local indie.

Only if you want the scoot running optimally - and to hell with emissions

Personally - I go w/ the latter

Btw - be certain the Dyno guy is a good one - not all are

Check around your local dealers! The closest one near me wants 600'ish one seventy miles away is 300'ish. If I were tuning my carb bike, guess where I'll go..

I've had dynos on my drag cars, sports cars and bikes and none took me anywhere close to an hour. Maybe their thinking of an engine rebuild. By the way, emissions aren't real. It's just something the Government made up to **** with the public. Doesn't sound like you are taking your bike to Bonneville, slap a tuner on it as stated.

From my experience, going to the dealership isn't worth it. If you have an Indy that has a Dyno and he knows what he's doing, the cost should be less. When I had my engine rebuilt, my Indy put my bike on his dyno and the total cost, with the tuner, was much less than the price that you quoted above and he only charged me 1 hour's time for the dyno. Personally, I'd shop around, there are better deals out there.

I have tuned 3 bikes with mine (2012 FB Lo, 2016 CVO SG, 2016 XL 1200), all with intake and exhaust using the PV with Auto Tune. I have zero complaints.
