A week later he knocked on my door and asked if I could ride him over on a bike and then follow him home. He had passed the written test and got a learner's permit which required a licensed rider along with.
My wife was laughing. She wanted me to ride by the house when I picked him up. I knew what she was up. I think she was going to take a photo of me going by with a dude on the back and put it on social media.

Negative. Please just direct him to a BRC. Please don't start teaching him techniques that experienced riders use, or bad habits. You will only be making the rider coach's job more difficult, and the new rider more uncomfortable when he has to re-learn things. Trust me, I see it every weekend (MSF RiderCoach).
If you really want to teach people to ride, become a rider coach. It is lots of fun, rewarding, and lots of work.
