Not sure why some are so obsessed with the stand not being more "forward" when deployed.
The Harley stand is probably one of the best ones out there, in that it does what it is supposed too.
When deployed, and the weight of the bike resting on the stand it lockes into place and will not fold up.
You can tie a strap on the bike and drag it all over the parking lot, and as long as the bikes weight stays on the stand it will not fold up.
Only when you lift the weight off the stand, are you able to fold up the stand to the stored position.

I have forgot to deploy my kickstand a few times but I've never had one fold up or fail me. I have seen bikes roll down hills on the stand and I've seen a few bikes "accidentally" started in gear and take off on the stands but the stands always held as long as there was weight on them.
Most complaints I've heard about Harley stands are more about the worry they will fail and not actually about ones that did fail.
My only complaint, and I'm sure It's my fault likely but the springs only last me about a year or two at most.

I said it was likely my fault because I often travel on backwoods gravel roads( I'm about an hour from your area, or at least the Sirloin Stockade ) and from time to time I'm sure gravel pops up and hits it.

Is it just me or does the h-d kickstand ,(thats what it is) named after a freaking popcorn treat is mind numbing imo, not to extend all the way?! This gets me nervous when I idle the bike and it seems like it will shake and collapse on itself. I know they been this way for years, but <whine><sob><wail>
Go get an electric scooter, it's all you deserve.

Remember what it was like hawsing one of my old BSA's up on the center stand, don't think I'd want to try that with an 800+ lbs bike.
