I'd like to see Ducati find a good home.

 

Harley-Davidson is preparing to make an offer to acquire Ducati, the Italian motorcycle rival owned by Volkswagen , according to a Reuters report published Wednesday.

HD should concentrate of doing what they do best. Building nice cruisers.

 

Why would they do that? They already had Buell and MV Augusta and got rid of them both.

 

Gotta say that xDiavel is one sweet bike.

 

HD is making a serious bid on Ducati which would bring two of the premiere bike makers into a powerhouse of a motorcycle team. Indian also in the hunt. Ducati is being put up for sale by VW. Who has their own share of problems. Dieselgate problems that is.

Go for it HD. Wife owns a Ducati XDiavel S bike. A great looking/riding/handling machine.

 

One of those things that could be anywhere from fabulous to disastrous, depending on how it's done.

Ducati could make good use of HD's superior US dealer network, and brings instant product diversity to the MoCo. The only real downside I see is if Milwaukee starts telling Bologna how to design bikes.

 

What could possibly go wrong?

This one is a gimme .

 

I'm sure Harley would not change a thing with the bikes just take ownership and sell in their dealerships. This would attract the younger crowd to the dealerships even more IMO.
