Does anyone own a Gallanto leather jacket? From my inquiry, they're a British company that has a factory in Pakistan. I always liked the old-time 3/4 length biker jackets but they're very hard to find. The prices are reasonable - about 1/2 of a HD jacket or Fox Creek, which makes me wonder if they're any good. They offer an option with armor - which is a bonus for motorcycle riders - and leads me to believe their jackets are not just for looks.

I think LeatherUp.com uses them as a supplier. I have a Pakistani made leather vest that is good quality and fairly cheap.

In 2014 i got a good deal, 30% off HD FXRG leather jacket. I paid 395 for it, they've gone up in price since then, but it is good quality.

Harley stuff is expensive, but wait for a sale and get something of high quality. Or possibly another good brand on sale.

I will never wear out this jacket, high quality leather, strong zippers,armor, liner, kidney belt, 3 or 4 inside pockets, zippered openings for air flow.

I have found out it is better to by the best you can afford and then you only buy it once.

Summer now, they may have a few they are trying to sell now for a good price so they can get new design in for winter.

 

A leather jacket is a lifetime investment. Buy the best you can afford. I have a custom made jacket that I bought used from someone with the same suit size as me. I actually wear
my Hillside Vented leather/Cordura jacket most of the time. It's very well made, in America. And cheaper than a Chinese HD jacket.

I got a problem with Pakistan. It would bug the hell out of me knowing it came from there.

 

I have 4 leather jackets: 2 Schotts and 2 Harleys. One Harley is made in China, the other India (close enough to Pakistan).

The 2 Harley jackets are extremely well made, and totally worth what I paid for them. Are they as nice as the Schotts? Maybe not, but they're close.

 

I agree the quality of hd leather jackets is good. However i wonder about the protection in high speed slide as the leather is at best "midweight" and soft. It's not thick. I'd hate to see what light weight is! I don't think you can buy a heavy weight leather from hd anymore. Just a consideration.

 

Just the fact that it says made is China is enough for me alone not to buy it. If I'm going to spend that kind of money anyways then I'm buying American. Not knocking anyone else for buying whatever they like either just saying what suits me.

 

I value the skin on my *** enough to not trust it to child laborers in a third world sweat shop. I wear Vanson 100% of the time and their materials and craftsmanship is never in doubt.

I believe Gallanto is Urdu for "Cheap American on 30K bike".
