At first I thought the bike fell over!

Then I read it was just the bag, and I relaxed. I agree, you should be able to fix it and not have to replace the entire thing.

You've got a great attitude! I'd beat myself up for the life of the bike. In fact, I'd be so distressed over the scratches, I'd consider trading in the bike for a new [unscratched] one.

Got some dings and scuffs on my bike from touring. Every one has a story behind it and great memories of trips with family and friends. The only way to keep a bike or car perfect is not to use it and put it in a museum.

Meh, a little bit of sandin' and some touch up spray paint and no one would ever notice it...a few little scrapes and scratches add character to the bike.

No big deal...

Sorry that happened to ya. Good luck with the fix.

When I clean the bike I have one of those HD racks that holds both bags. I clean and wax the bags while they are on the rack, but after they are waxed they're slippery. Getting them back on the bike without dropping one is a bit nerve-racking.
