Default Parking? I backing in or pulling in?

So which is it? Backing in or pulling in your bike?
I was told years ago that you were always supposed to back your bike in from an old biker. He said get into that habit because not all parks are level, and that one day you might need to make a fast get away... The well I did have to do a fast get away once!

Now that leads me to this, and I see some bike backed in yet I see more pulled in. I those mostly that I see that are pulled in? Well those are the I own a Harley people, which is nothing wrong with that, but makes me wonder what they'll do if their bike rolls forward on the kickstand and falls?
The weird pondering of a morning ride...

It depends on the parking lot.
I always park my bike so the front is facing up hill.

On the touring bikes, the jiffy stand drops into a notch. You can actually push your bike forward with it leaning on the jiffy stand*, so no big deal.

I back into spots because I'd rather pull into traffic than back into it.

*try at your own risk

It's better to pull out into traffic than to back out into traffic.

Just don't pull in if the space is downhill. Getting out is a bitch! And if you know how the jiffy stand works, no worries. Also backing into an uphill space is a bitch too.

Depends on the slope but I back in whenever possible, or even pull in and loop around so I can pull out into traffic. Same with my truck, almost always back in.

yea, it's all about the fast getaway... lol... last time I make a fast getaway was in 1971
after TPing some gals house at 2am.

depends on the parking situation. sometimes I'm lazy and just pull in but sometimes
I swing around and back in.

In a level parking lot with no street traffic, I see no reason to point the bike toward a trailer that thieves would use. Why make it easier for them to load it? As far as fast getaways, you need to take care of business properly (if you get my drift). Then there's no reason to be in a hurry.

This exactly.

For me, this is so that when I walk backwards, the downhill helps me move the bike. Too hard for me to walk the bike backwards uphill...
