Millennials and Harley Davidson

Read slower. Your brain will catch up with what you are reading.

The folks at HD are clueless. Look at what they do.
They look at different US demographics, they undertake aggressive marketing nonsense, they look at overseas markets, they introduce sub par 500 and 750 CC bikes in the US and overseas. They have lost focus on what got them to where they are.

Mercedes is not hucking a Hyundai type of car for the masses.
HD darts and dodges aimlessly looking for the flavor of the month - anything that they think will increase sales.

Not if they buy Ducati.
Otherwise, yes, it will be an agonizing slow death. Or they will re-invent themselves, stop all USA sales, and only sell the "Street's" in Asia and make a pile of money ripping off those poor jerks.

Welcome from Central Wisconsin. I see you're from Brooklyn. I grew up in ENY. Times have changed.

Here's a for instance back in my day kids were outside playing with bikes and fighting ninja turtles and gi Joe's. Now kids sit in front of YouTube and watch mindcraft videos.
We were the only generation raised right.

You will undoubtedly notice that Honda and Kawasaki and the other manufacturers are doing much more with ATV's (power sports) than motorcycles these days. Harley won't ever leave the legacy they've built, and one that only older, more successful people would appreciate.
If they end up buying Ducati, would that be considered growing?

I don't know... But in a way I don't really care what the younger generations get into. I don't have kids and my dogs will likely pass on before I do. As long as I can buy and ride what I want while I'm still kicking then I'm good. After that I'll be dead and won't give a ****. Won't matter to me if HD is still around then or not.
Same applies to what becomes of the new generations. If the male of the species wants to become metrosexual, man capris wearing (with matching canvas shoes with white soles), latte swilling, urbanized, emasculated (feminism/political correctness driven perhaps), vicarioulsy living through Text, Facebook, Twitter, etc., she-males who have never heard of John Wayne and thinks Harley's are scary, then what do I care? Like I said. I'll be dead and I don't have any progeny to worry about.

The cell phone comment is spot on. Our youngest is 17 and has 18 year old friends who have yet to take driver's ed - we talking cars for christ sake. Who needs to drive when you have Snap Chat and know that mom or dad is there to answer your beckoning call? We made it clear to our kids that the taxi service ended when they were eligible to drive themselves. Sadly, we're the generation that created the millennials.
