6 Gun, thanks for the positive post. I'm not sure we can compare the two, only because of the small oil tank.
I always ran Mobil 1 VTwin in my last custom bike. It ran very good but it would tell you when you need to get out of So Cal traffic.

Here are some pictures I just took

The license plate and rear lighting is on the right side of the bike. This all needs to be corrected.

The guy I bought it from had his local bike shop install the PM hand controls, new bars, new exhaust, new front tire. There are a few small things that need to be addressed.

Again for FWIW my bike doesn't even have an oil tank, all the motor oil is in a pan under the transmission. By the way do you have an A engine, or a B engine?

That's a righteous looking sled, but I'd ditch that dopey seat for something a little more practical. No reason for that seat other than "bragging rights".

What's that little hose and filter sticking out the gas cap? Is it a tank vent?

old school fuel gauge.

oopss. i see what you mean. I thought you were talking about the clear hose at the bottom of the tank. I have no idea what that thing is coming out of the cap.

Now that the recent photos are up, I gotta say that's a good lookin' ride!

Like Dickey said, the seat is a bit funky, but it does fit in with the lines of the bike nicely. Maybe have an upholstery guy make up a cool lookin' cover with a bit of padding to add a bit of comfort.

I still stick with my other comment. See if it actually runs hot before worrying about it. All things considered, unless your *** is steel plated and your spine is solid, it is not gonna be a long distance machine anyway.

6 gun, is this a custom oil pan?
How do you fill the oil pan?

I really dont know a lot about factory bikes. The only HD factory bike I have ever owned is the 1970 Ironhead i have.

Thank you for the help.

Its very slippery. I havent been able to go very far with it because of a few issue, one being my AAA RV/motorcycle roadside insurance wont kick in until Tuesday.

Im thinking to just cover it with thick black leather. Any suggestions for the leather work?
