Try the Kuryakyn Lower Triple Tree Wind Deflector. Part #1804, $34.99. Works wonders, keeps the air from coming up over the gas tank. Easy to install. I get virtually zero buffeting even at 80 MPH.

Passenger here. The recurve shields funnel the wind around the driver and right into the passenger, making it worse. Best we've found is Long Ride Shields Flat Top. Might not be the most stylish but I've been known to forget to put the shield down on my half helmet going 65 because it redirects the wind so well.

That laminar lip is literally a bolt on recurve for the stock shield. Looks like hell too. I also paid less for my windshield from LRS.

Irie1: As I stated before, my girlfriend said the exact opposite as you. After putting on a recurve shield, she said it was much better. She wasn't getting the blast of wind to her face and sides of the head any longer. Probably depends a lot on the height of the shield, fairing design, height of the passenger, their sitting height over the operator, etc.

Lots of variables at play so there isn't one magic bullet. A little trial and error is at play I assume.

The Long Ride Flat Top is specifically designed for your dilemma.

I run a 7" on my Electra Glide and the Mrs. agrees it is the best one I tried. I also have the fork tree deflector (in the center under the triple tree) and vented lower fairing deflectors. I have no need for the fork deflectors.

The only windshield she liked better was attached to a new Road Glide Ultra we test drove. I hope to get her that windshield this coming spring.

Yes, this would be a "function over form" type thing, and yes, they are pricey.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'm going to give the LRS flat top a try.
At $50 on sale, if it doesn't do much, oh well, no big deal.

I have an LRS recurve that directs the wind over my passenger; I can't say enough about how well it works. I don't think brand is as important as height. Like you said, for as cheap as you can get one they're worth a try.
I have also added DK Customs Cooling Deflector Wings. Cheap add that made a huge difference in the wind coming up in my face.

When I bought my Limited I test-rode 3 different windshields (all stock) -- the 10", 12" and 15".

I cannot STAND helmet buffett. I found that the 12" and 15" were pretty close but the 15 incher
was best. That's what I bought. Wife has no complaints.

When I bought my Road Glide Ultra I removed the deflectors beneath the gas tank and after the buffeting that I got they went right back on and the buffeting went away, so they addition of deflectors are necessary for the buffeting.
