I talked to a man in North Idaho once who had flown into the US and rented a bike in San Francisco. He had put that many miles on the bike by the time he got to here by riding every road going back and forth across the Sierra's and Cascade's so it can be done if you are sightseeing.

I rode my '48 Panhead round trip from San Diego to North Canton, Ohio once. And a
lot of trips up and down I5 and the Pacific coast hwy as far north as Portland.

And I'd like to see his map, if he had one...or maybe he didn't and that's how he pulled on the miles. And the gas can is no surprise with the 2.5 gallon tank, if it's that big.
The tiny tank is nuts....

Yeah, they had plenty of time to entertain each other talking while standing/kneeling on the side of the road. Just kidding or maybe not.
