Default Anyone use Rain-X on your windscreen?

I'm not sure I want to risk it directly... the thought is to keep rainwater from globbing on my windshield OR a helmet visor.

It has been advised not to because it supposedly can 'fog' the windshield...but..I've used it for years and never had a problem....go for it!!!

I have and found it pretty much performs how you would expect. In my experience it lasts just a little bit longer than a wax. I'm considering trying out a glass sealant, but I need to check to see if its safe to be used on the windscreen plastics.

I don't use rain-x but, I use Meguiar's Plast-X polish. It was recommended by the manufacturer (Madstad). Works well, takes the bugs off easier. Water rolls right off.

I've been using Pledge on both the windshield and helmet visor. While it works well enough for mild conditions and helps the bugs slide off a little easier, I found out last year, it comes up WAY short for keeping a visor clear in wet conditions.

Last year I was approaching San Francisco via Skyline Drive, which skirts the city and hugs the coastline. The fog was so bad that my visor became useless within minutes. Opening the visor, it was then my glasses that got misted over bad enough to become semi blinded. I had to look over the top of my glasses and my distance vision is not good. It made for some tense moments. Thankfully it was early enough in the morning that traffic was light. I found a set of tail lights to follow until I could move inland.

So, yeah, I'd like to find something that works too. RainEx has not done much good for other stuff I've tried it on.

If you're asking for confirmation that the product is safe on plastic, I can not offer any advice. If you're asking "does it work"? It sure does. I've used it on my RV and my son's Explorer [obviously, both glass]. When freshly applied, you can essentially drive in all rain conditions short of a monsoon without operating the wipers. Effectiveness fades gradually.
