I'm not sure who "they" is, but I've plugged many tubeless tires.

Yeah, I was thinking about plugging it, got the stuff to do it. Just not sure how safe it is riding like that.
No issues or worries? I thought it was one of those questionable repairs, only intended for emergencies and roadside repair.
BTW, "they" are the motorcycle repair shops.

"They" could put a patch on the inside of it too.

Put some RIDE ON in it. It's stops leaks and balances your tire too. No need for weights or worrying about leaks.

I don't think this shop will put a patch on the inside.
Is Ride On that good?

That looks like an easy repair. If "they" won't do it, someone else will.

500 miles on it so far and no problems yet.

"They" won't do it because it a liability issue..Can't blame "They" for that....
I've plunged many a tire with no issues...
BUT
The thing is...Regardless of the "Patch" method....
Will you in your mind feel safe and secure with it?
If the answer is yes than go for it and ride on..
If the answer is no than spend the $$$ and move on....

Same thing happened to me on a tire with less than 9k miles. I plugged it and it worked great. However a friend of mine that was also a Harley dealership owner cautioned me. He also had plugged tires more than once to get him home. But he had a good point. If that plug comes out you now have a larger hole and it will go flat quick. Safe to get you back but to ride on until the thread is worn out is a risk only you can decide if it is worth or not.

I've used the rope type plug on several occasions by the side of the road. I have a gun at home that inserts a mushroom headed plug that works well as well. I carry the rope style repair in my saddlebag because I'm a belt and suspenders kind of guy. However, since I started using "Ride-on" I haven't had to worry about repairing a tire. Knock on wood.
