I couldn't GIVE AWAY my Dyna...
I have two Dynas. I was going to sell my '04 Wide Glide fro two reasons. First, I moved to Fort Bragg CA. I'm 500 yards from the Pacific Ocean and everything rusts up here. This is a cherry, highly chromed sweety and it will die a horrible death up here.
Second is I need to put a roof on the house and it is $$$$$. I'm retired now and coming up with $18K will be a bitch. I have the '14 Fat Bob with the humongous engine so I'll still have a scoot.
BUT...
I can't get $6K for the '04. And they don't make Dynas anymore. So, what do you think? Sooner or later these old bikes will become collectible; Maybe I'll roll the bike into the house or something, the garage is too damp.
You gonna hang on to your Dyna?

The market for used bikes is frankly, in the toilet!
A friend of mine just bought a beautiful '05 Fat Boy last week for $ 4800 bucks in hopes that he will be able to flip it and make a few bucks.
The previous owner had it listed for $ 6000 for several weeks with no luck.
Your's looks like a beautiful bike also and hopefully you'll be able to find a buyer soon.

YES, it's hard to believe here in Michigan there are a huge amount of NICE Harley's that have been for sale since spring and almost NONE have sold-same bike's posted for over 6 month's-they keep coming down in price and NO call's, and I'm not talking about some that are stupid priced (to high), don't know what's going on, but if you have a nice 10-15yr old Harley in Michigan you might own it till death or REALLY give it away (almost)

No Harley's newer than shovels will ever bring any money. There are too many out there and a million folks bought a Harley after the TV/Bike craze and never rode them so there are a million (or close to it) low mileage Harleys not going anywhere. A bike now is like a boat....you better take whatever you can get for one 'cause the market is only gonna get worse and you'll be buried with it. As with other toys (hot rods, boats etc.) I just figure I'll get my money's worth of fun out of them and anything I can get at the other end is beer money......kind of like my marriage.

Few things..
* I dont think the Dynas are in the toilet due to the new line up. I actually thing they became a little more saleable BC people love the Dyna line
* USed bikes in general have been a buyer market for a while but I got 6k for the exact bike you have... It'll sell
* I live not too far from salt water. You'd be surprised how little addl maint is needed. Keep it waxed and you'll be ok..
Sorry to hear about the roof...

In 10 years is HD going to stop servicing the TC motors like they have said about bikes now 10 years old? What happens to the TC parts market after 10 years? As much as I like the M8 motor being put in the new bikes I don't see it as a good thing for all the current bikes.
Time will tell and I have been wrong before but I don't think I am this time out. In 10 years the motorcycle industry is going to go through extreme changes. When my generation dies out it will be felt by this industry.
Sorry to hear about your roof. Keep trying to sell the Dyna it will sell. If you were on this coast I would consider it.

Riding the Wide Glide is much more comfortable than that black beast. For one thing, it doesn't set my pants on fire...
