Yeah ... if they stick to this they will be out of businees. Hell I don't see all 5hat many going out the door when I visit dealerships. Parts motorclothes and SOME service centers have some traffic ... bit I haven't head a bell ring in a while.

If you were selling your bike and told a potential buyer, "you know, the book value of this bike is $10K but I want $15K". If they agree then they obviously want the bike. If you could get 15K for it would you stick with 10K because that is the book value and that's right thing to do? Hell no.

Dealer might as well try and see how far you can go. It's a business after all. If someone is willing to pay over MSRP because they really want a bike, then get as much as you can. The point of a business is to make a profit. Youre not stiffing anyone. They know upfront what the cost is and the bike is $5 over MSRP. If they buy it, congratulations to the dealer.
Nah.. there's a difference between making a profit and screwing someone over. The moco sets the msrp. The rest is just greed.

And to think I got a €600 voucher yesterday without asking for it when I put down the deposit on the 2018. Bike was sold for MSRP even though the new line up had no prices on the bikes.

I totally disagree. The (obvious) goal to make a profit does not excuse poor business practices in the pursuit of those profits. A reputable dealer doesn't price gouge. And the part that you do have right comes into full effect at that point - the consumer makes the decision. I would think most consumers would take a hard pass on that type of business practice. This isn't 2002 anymore and buying whatever bike you want at msrp or less should be very easy very soon.

My decision would be to never set foot in that dealership again - to buy anything. There are other good dealers out there that will continue to get my money.

As for bikes I don't think I could ever make a deal with them and based on the last experience don't plan to try!

But they are close and we like to stop in.

LOL - I'd try and charge you 5K over MSRP as well if you came in buying $700 worth of HD crap, especially "matching jackets"!! LMAO!! Great advertising for a company you admit tries to rake people over the coals by overcharging them!! Too funny!

Seriously get over the MOCO, their clothes, their parts, all of it. They do NOTHING for you so why advertise for them? The only thing the MOCO has going for it are the are an American company. If Kawasaki or Honda were headquarted in the US they'd be out of business.

PT Barnum was right, there is a sucker born every minute and you sound like a whale.

So this guy complains that he casually wanted to go get a brand new model, with the brand new powerful engine.

Didnt realized that he's part of the suckers that all want the new model. Free market. If all the suckers wants it, the price goes up.
