Default Anyone know of a helmet with less road noise?

I put a Sena 20S EVO on a 3/4 helmet last night and took it for a ride. The intercom worked well but playing music from my phone not so well. My hearing is moderately impaired and to actually hear the music I had the phone and Sena both at maximum volume. After a 15 mile test ride I had a nice little headache. There is a lot of road and wind noise with that particular helmet.

Do full face helmets block some of that noise? Do some of them block it better than others?

Yup they do. They are more streamlined. Schuberth supposed to be one of the quietest helmets on the market. (also one of the most expensive)

I have tinnitus and need a quiet helmet and earplugs to prevent it from getting worse.

If you do a quick google on "quietest helmet 2017" you get tons of info.

What kind of bike are you riding, does it have a fairing or windshield? I think custom molded ear plug speakers is what you need.

2015 Heritage mostly so it has a windshield.

I've thought about custom molded ear plug speakers but the ones I've found haven't had the best reviews. Any suggestions on those?

I think the Quest is very quiet and has space for ear speakers.

Default Try one of the Schuberth C3 Pros or C4

You might see some deals on the C3 Pros soon. The new C4s are out. Check with your local BMW dealer and see if they have Demo helmets. I went to one several years ago and tried 5 helmets and settled on the Schuberth C2. They were the quietest for that bike. I have since found that everything from a new seat to a different jacket and a different windshield position can change the air flow and sound in the helmet. Good luck.

Foam earplugs will make any helmet quieter, block wind noise, and allow you to hear the bike and traffic better.

If you dont want a full face get earplugs. Cuts down wind noise and keep the low frequency exhaust notes.

My helmet is a Schuberth C3 and it is the quietest helmet I've ever owned. They are expensive but well made. I bought my C3 right after the C3 Pro's came out and got a decent deal on it.
