Default Riding season over, left turn strikes again

Well the title says it all I guess. Some woman in a SUV made a left in front of me and I could have eaten the side of her or lay it down, i decided to take the slide and roll. Shattered shoulder and road rash. Anyone care to guess her excuse?
Sucks typing with 1 hand so details later maybe.

You guys stay safe out there and take a ride for me

Glad it's not worse than that.

Excuse...I didn't see you because I was texting...I didn't see you because I wasn't looking...I don't see you because I dropped a French fry....I didn't see you.

Very sorry to hear that. I hope you recover quickly and the bike gets fixed.

I will never understand laying a bike down as an option. The moving bodies will still go straight but slow down substantially less of a rate that using front and rear brakes in a emergency stop. The ordinary bike can slow at 0.9 g's. The sliding bike and rider can slow at a small fraction of that.

Doubtful. The Fat Bob held up really well and I was able to shave off a lot of speed before playing slide and roll.

Been there. Smashed that. Glad you're not seriously laid up. ****'ll buff out, chicks dig scars and all that. Hope the bike is easily fixed. Go buy a lotto ticket. You're alive.

Your sig is so fitting, I was damn near the bug today. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had hit the side of her. I'm ready to get the bike fixed but I have a feeling I got a long road ahead dealing with that, medical, and work ****.

Great point. My question when I hear or read someone say "I had to lay it down" is, How? Do you mash the rear brake and crank the bars like we did on our bicycles as kids in the lawn, do you slam the front brake causing the front to wash out, or do you just simply jump off??

In any case, it seems like you wouldn't want to intentionally "lay it down", it always seems like rider error or it's their tough way of simply saying that they had an accident.
