Default Flo reusable oil filters. Anyone using one.

OK. Didn't want to go in to Oil specific topics because posts are too old. So not much reading going on there.
I'd like to know from the readership if anyone is using the Flo brand reusable oil filters that DK customs sells from their website. And any specific, actual observations. i.e. collection of particles on magnet, noticeable grit in the filter screen etc. Thanks all. LenBoyLo.

I've been using the Flo filter for several years and it has already paid for itself. My Indy mechanics and many of the people that have them service their bikes, also use this filter. The reasons that we like it is because of your last statement, it can be taken apart and inspected to see if there are any foreign materials inside it that a person wouldn't see using a normal oil filter. It is also very easy to clean and put back together.

Thanks Springer. I like the idea that they trap particles down to a consistent 35 Micron size. I change oil twice during riding season with top grade oils. Amsoil or Lucas. So I'm not overly worried about chewing up my 107 with those 2 to 20 Micron sized particles that the American Society of Engineers tested to be the most damaging to machined mating surfaces. My used oil usually comes out lightly Carmel colored. Not black or even dark brown.

I have one on my Low Rider. I like it a lot. Having flown many airplanes with "re-usable" oil filers I have not qualms about running one my Harley. It provides better flow than the typical paper filter and the housing contributes to oil cooling if only a small amount.

OK folks; I was waiting all day for my Flo oil filter to arrive by mail. Finally got delivered near the end of business hours. Whew.
Heres what I can faithfully report after a sustained 70 MPH for 20 minutes at 79 F ambient. I took a route that I use near every day going to and from work.
Oil temp down by 9' F. Normally 227. Today 218.
Oil pressure up slightly/ Normally 38 PSI. Now 40 PSI.
Cruise exhaust note slightly lighter sounding. Less throttle butterfly opening required.
The slight increase in HP that was really noticeable was in the hills I traverse.
Less throttle rotation required to make the same speed as previously required. Remember. Same route day in and day out test. So very in tune with conditions.
So this is a good little upgrade. I run a 107 Cu in twin cam with ported heads and .575 lift cams plus a whole bunch of other goodies to support the HP it makes. Feeling a noticeable difference over and above what was already there is a pleasant surprise to me. Essentially all that is reported in the advertising are supportable claims in my case.

So going back to my original question. What have you noticed trapped in the screen when you've opened them up when due for an oil change ? Anything like bits of carbon. Flecks of metal ?
