yeah... snowflakes made them popular.
People who claim to never had heard of them... How long you been riding an HD? Ever been in any bike shop? HD Dealership, or indy?
I can't recall ever being in any bike shop, and not seeing a KD display.
Like many, I keep a few pair in my saddlebags. The different colours/shades, at a great price... I can't count how many times I, or someone else has needed a pair while out.

Just an observation, I see theses being sold everywhere. I was told they are liked by a lot of old timers. I really don't see the function benefit, actually they appear to be terrible for riding. Is it because they are cheap and easily replaced or is there a real benefit to the simple design?
I wear contacts and can ride 90 mph in the desert and not get a speck of grit in my eyes.
The way they're designed is to block right around the eyes and they do a great job in my experience.
And yep, the price is right.
(The ones I wear now are bifocals)

They look cool, I'm not so I just ride in my M-frame shooting glasses.
