Suggestions on methods to seat shopping? Stock seat for our ‘07 FLHRS hurts my wife’s butt after 45 minutes, need a new seat...do you buy, try, and return if it isn’t right and repeat until you find the right fit?

 

Or you could ask for everyone's opinion, try, and return if it isn't right.

Unfortunately, everyone's butt is different. What's great for one is hell for someone else.

If you can come up with a better way than you described, I'm sure many people here would love to hear about it.

 

Your dealer oughta work with you on seats, most of them have several demo seats and will change a few out for you to try.

Berts in Port charlotte have several seat demos hanging on the wall. Call them and see if they have one for your bike. Some online dealers will allow returns, but then the of shipping will cost you. There is also cycle gear in Pinellas.

 

Until we added the sheep pelt to the seat, my wife's tailbone was bugging her when we did long rides.

Adding a cushion like an Airhawk or a pelt may be a solution.

Our dealership has a huge selection of seats and they are super helpful in changing them out and letting you try them.

Other than that, ask around, like you are doing here and look for reviews.

I have heard good things about the Hammock seat.

 

Correct me if Im wrong but dealers (around here) the demo seats are HD replacements. Just as a rule of thumb - Ive never had bad luck with Mustang or Saddleman seats. Theyre purpose built, not asthetics built..

Some dealers have Mustang demo seats . I have a couple Mustang seats on different models and love them

 

The only seat I have NEVER heard anyone say the wish they didn’t buy it, or complain about is the RDL
