Default Street 750 seeing police duty — in India

The Street 750 was designed with the overseas market in mind. So I think it makes sense we'd see some make their way into the hands of foriegn cops — especially since they're much bigger than a lot of the bikes on the road in plenty of places. As the HP pointed out, the five bikes which have just hit the road in Calcutta are basically going to be used for ceremonial duty, but I can see them making their way into the regular fleets in a few years...

This isn't specific to Harleys but bikes in the USA in general.

Whenever I hear someone bitching about a bike not having enough CCs to ride long distance or ride 2 up, I always think of dudes in India.

I was at the store the other day and this Indian guy comes over and shoots the **** for a second. Seemed pretty new to the states and asked about the bike. I told him it's 1.2 liters (which isn't much for an HD these days) and he was floored. Interesting way to see a culture difference.

As for the HD Streets, I'm pretty sure they're actually made in India if I remember correctly.

This **** is probably like 50cc.

So that is why the Street is such a rare sight on American roads, they were not intended to be sold here. It also helps the Street is built in India...for the Indian market.

I'm pretty confident that HD has made an offer to Asian law enforcement that is next to impossible for them to turn down.

Those bikes ARE made in India. Why wouldn't Indian LE support domestic manufacturers? I'd prefer the HD over a Royal Enfield.

Good to see Indians riding Harleys, instead of Indians...

I've always been really curious about REs... I wouldn't buy one, but I'd be interested to see what riding something that's barely been updated for 50 years.

^^^ They're cool lookin' bikes but I don't think they compare to the Street performance-wise.
