Default Air filter

i have a stage 1 screaming eagle air cleaner on my bike that needs to be changed I have always had k&n but always hate the oil it’s just a mess. What’s the replacement part number for the screaming eagle filter I heard they have an improved design is this true ? How do they compare to the k&n ? I wouldn’t mind using a k&n but if the se filter is just as good I may as well use the oil less one

The oil on a K & N shouldn't be a reason to avoid them. A light coating until it is red again. It isn't too messy if you don't over do it.

I must be doing something wrong, two K&N filters needing oil and neither one has ever drip. The filter on my '13 Roadie is synthetic material, wash out with soapy water , air dry, reinstall. Check your local HD dealer for this variety. Got mine from Arlen Ness, check their website.

K&N for certain...I would agree that you are overdoing it if you're have problems...it doesn't take a lotta oil!

agree!! Found a neat way to clean the heavy breather/k&n as well.... two 2liter bottles club soda with a couple scoops of oxiclean in a bucket large enough to immerse. let the soda and oxiclean start to bubble and drop the filter in. let sit about 10 minutes and thoroughly rinse. dry aunatural and oil. clean filter, and the spray oil until red tint, good to go. No runs, no drips, no errors!!!
