Not again...
We have a group of friends that all have beautiful old bikes, AKA the Pan Clan. It's not a club, it's not even remotely organized, and not limited to Pans. There is everything from a '26 JD w/sidecar, to Flatties, Knuckles, Pans, Shovels, and even some original Indians. I have ridden across several states with them, and the bikes always run well. I call them my antique friends.
On Sunday night, an SUV struck and killed one of ours. When I saw the wreck on the front page of the local paper, my heart sank. It was Peter O'Grady's '65 Pan. He owned a popular restaurant called Porter's Oyster Bar. He was already using a cane. There's a law in Illinois that restricts 16/17 year-olds to one passenger, in an effort to reduce distracted driving. This kid had four passengers. Damn it. RIP Peter.
Not much movement in the memorial forum, so I'm putting this here. Take care everybody.
