Default 2017 SGS Shocks

Who has changed shocks and to what manufacture. My butt meter just can't seem to get my stock shocks (2017 SGS) anywhere close to comfort of what my '13 Limited felt like.

Luv the engine and the frame and the handling but I might be asking to much for wanting comfort too.

If you want comfort go with a 13" shock instead of a 12". I found the Progressive 444 13" shocks to be a great overall comfortable shock at a reasonable price. Many good choices but get a 13" if you want more comfort.

Get the 2018 shocks. Check eBay.
Street Glide shocks are shorter (less travel) than the other FLH rear shocks.
Or put on regular length shocks and use lowering links if you want to keep the lowered look. When I got my '07 RK the height bothered me, so I used the lowering kit. I had no problems with the setup. After I got used to the weight and size of the bike I took off the links.

I rode my 2011 Limited to the local dealer and they talked me in to riding a 2018 SGS. It felt like I was riding a hardtail. Even if they are all new and adjustable they're still as hard as a rock. Made me not want the bike.

Totally agree with you. I spent 3 hours this morning adjusting my '17 SGS shocks and could not really tell a vast amount of difference between zero setting and 5. Maybe I might have something wrong, at zero setting I cannot get the shock to bottom out. Still head scratching...

I weigh about 175 at present. Before I took off on my new 17 RGS from the dealership I set the shocks down to zero. I rode it like that first few weeks thinking there has to be better than this. I found I was able to get a couple clicks below zero if that makes sense and much better now.

When you were set at zero did you ever get the shocks to bottom out? I'm 210 and cannot.
