Default Who Else Goes By Themselves?

My wife doesn't ride, so I'm 99% solo. I have a job that affords me the luxury of taking off whenever I'm "caught up." (Almost like I retired a few years ago, and they just haven't found out about it yet.) Most riding buddies can't just leave like I can, so I go by myself. I'm not talking about a 300 mile day trip with the guys on a Sunday, but rather 2 or 3 days. For example, I'm in upstate PA, and last year I discovered how much I like WV, so I just take off & go once in awhile. I've ridden route 50 all the way to Cumberland, and stopped along the way for breakfast at Cool Springs Park, and I went down this summer, and rode the Cass Railroad by myself. Ride down on Saturday, train ride on Sunday, Blackwater Falls & a couple other things on the way home on Monday. Stuff like that. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but she doesn't care if I go.

Anybody else take off by themselves? I can't believe I'd be the only one.

I would if I could. I see nothing strange about a trip by yourself.

My wife is my usual riding partner, on her own bike, but I also do a lot of solo rides too, everything from day trips to ten day tours.

I to take road trips by myself. I relocate my bike from NY to Fl and back again Amoung other over night trips. I like riding with my group and also enjoy the freedom of being on my own . I guess if I am riding I am happy . Safe travels

All the time. My wife doesn't ride either and none of the riders around here take trips on their bikes. They're all fair weather riders.

I am retired, and my wife rarely rides with me, so I ride alone most of the time. It's more fun with a group, but when you are alone you can go and do whatever and wherever you want.

Solo riding is great.

Pace is yours.

Stop when you want to.

Eat where you want to.

Change itinerary on a whim.

Ability to "see where this road goes" without the U-turn embarrassment.

Solo rides avoids the danger of group rides.

For years I rode with my friend that got me back into riding and my also my dad. My friend lost his legs to diabetes, dad had a mini stroke that messed with his vision so now I ride solo. Dad knows he's welcome on the back anytime he wants, I think he's getting closer to taking me up on that offer
