Default Better to leave FOB home?

Just thinking about my first of many long trips this coming year... since i programed my bikes pin with my own number and know how to enter it... is it best just to leave the FOB home so you don't lose it, or do you need it for something else, or anything else?

Thx.

If you lose it, you won't have it, but if you don't take it, you still won't have it.

I'm assuming you own a model with electronics and such.My 17 RK doesn't.. I would still take the fob if I were you.. If you can lock and unlock the ignition via your pass code great, but heck knows how the fob interacts with any of your electronics. Duct tape it inside one of your jacket pockets if your worried about it growing legs .

I wouldn't leave my FOB at home and I have a PIN assigned as well. There's no greater chance of losing the FOB away from home as there is while at home.

Here's just one reason; if you break down and the bike has to be towed, you need a FOB to put the bike in transport mode.

your overthinking this, if you use the fob at home use it on a trip.

The fob by design makes it easier to start! Take advantage of that on your trip.

Where/when are you going?

I wouldn't leave my fob at home any more than I would leave my wallet at home - wallets can be lost too.

I wouldn't do that ,but maybe put a piece of tape or wax paper over it would be better thing to do.

it disables the motion sensors. otherwise the jostling and other movement while the bike is on a flatbed or trailer will keep waking up the electronic modules and run the battery down.
