Your riding season wrap up

No winter to speak of here, either. I took several multi-day trips this year just to get away. Most weekends are riding, either solo or with friends. The flood in September was a royal pain, not alot of damage, just major clean up. But it did put a kink in riding plans. So I consoled myself by buying the new Heritage Classic.

This season I put on more miles than usual, over 10K, which is considerably more than usual. Feature was an 8 day putt thru the Black Hills and surrounding area, including Sturgis, but one month before the big party. Looks like the season could be over unless we get a warm spell before I pull the plug.

Got about 8k in this year, multiple long weekend trips with the Mrs, and a bunch with just the guys. Enjoyed all the North East states. While it's cold now, the heated grips and the zip-on fabric fairing lowers are doing a good job keeping me comfortable. Will keep riding till the snow, ice and road salt comes out.

Took delivery of my new 2016 Limited in February. I have put almost 28,500 miles on it. I'm still itching to ride, but the weather is trying to turn to winter, so it's a struggle.
I took a solo 5 day trip to the Black Hills, it was awesome. I took a day and half to get there. I rode as many roads as I could in the 2 1/2 days that I was there. I visited all the major spots. On the 5th day I rode home...14 hours, 928 miles.
The wife and I took a 3 day trip up into Wisconsin. We went to Greenbay, Door County, Doc's Harley Davidson, Rhinelander and the home.
I took 15 Fridays Ridedays off work. Some of these days were solo rides, some were with the wife. 300-500 mile days usually. When the wife was with me we'd pick a winery and head out. She likes her wine, I like my ride time, so it worked perfectly, besides we've visited damn near every HD dealer within 250 miles.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to put the bike into storage soon. I need my garage space during the winter, and once the salt goes down there's no chance of riding until spring anyway.
All in all it was a good season. Next year I want to hit Deals Gap, and head out west again.
