Seems like a smart financial move. Harleys does not make race bikes you can buy off the floor. Both very fringe markets. Lots of cost for insignificant return and negligible exposure. Looks like they are getting smarter at the MoCo for a change.

Sammy Halbert switched to Indian this year. Got his first win in about 4 years after giving up his Harley.

That and the fact they can’t keep up with Indian on the flats may make a smart move.

IMO, it is a smart move on HD's part. In the true scheme of things flat track doesn't even cause a blip on any radar screen, and drag racing might be a small blip nothing more.

IF HD was smart, they would put their money where the greatest prestige/promotion, etc... are at, road racing. Just look at the response to the bagger race out at Laguna for an example. That is one reason why HD delaying/dumping the Bronx was so disappointing to me. If I were in a decision making position at HD I would have voted to drop the Pan America and continue with development of the Bronx.

..... Did Harley not just win the AFT Production Twin Championship this year with James Rispoli?

I read that the Bronx's intro is being delayed until next year, not completely axed.
Some manufacturers are having supply chain problems due to COVID.

Default Harley out of Racing

So much for competition. Harley has been flat track racing for years, what happened to win on Sunday selling Monday ? While it may save some money for Harley, it does nothing to endure riders to the brand. Sad news for race fans.
