If it complies with NY law on helmets 100% and you are only looking for 2% protection for your head, face, jaw, nose, teeth, lips, ears, etc. you should be good to go.

Wow, kinda' harsh. I don't think he was asking about re-constructive surgery . More interested in opinions on those who actually own/used the helmet. But having said that. After 5 decades of riding I just last year tossed out my half helmet and moved on to a modular full-face. (But I guess he wasn't asking about that either!)

The OP is, of course, welcome to wear what he wants. But...the Hawk is a novelty helmet and does not meet the helmet requirements for New York.

It took you long enough. In 1967 I started riding and never had a helmet. By 1982 I was wearing full face helmets and now wear either a 3/4 or modular.

If someone wants to wear a fashion accessory helmet to make themselves look cool while skirting their State's legal requirements, I'm cool with that.

But just on the off chance that someone might be a new rider, or just not aware that these novelty helmets are junk, I let it rip. Me bad.
