On Sunday the temperature got up into the 50's so the OL and I decided to go for a ride and get some lunch. We rode to Utica and parked in front of Clarks Run Creek, a wine tasting shop owned by a friend of mine. We walked down the block to Duffy's Tavern and ate. Upon returning to the bike, we were met by my friend who told me a group of women were in the wine shop celebrating a birthday. The birthday girl was a sweet 71 year old woman who mentioned to him going for a ride on a Harley was on her bucket list. He asked if I would and I agreed. Soon a group of about 8 women exited the shop. The birthday girl followed by daughters and granddaughters. They all took out their phones and giggled as she climbed on the bike. After getting a hesitant thumbs up,I took her for a short and fairly subdued ride. She was quiet at first, but after a few minutes she commented "oh, this is lovely"! Upon our return we rode by slowly so everyone could get a good picture or video.

 

You made her day and also gave her a memory that will last the rest of her life. Good for you and for her!
