Default Front end swap

2006 road king was smashed to pieces. I am chopping it. Was thinking about a Dyna Wide Glide front end, all chromed out, instead of putting another RK front end on it. I wanted to still run a wide tire and wheel, with dual disc brakes. Any thoughts or insight into possible problems would be appreciated.

What about a springer?

On a Road king the triple tree is reversed, and the neck sticks out farther than the legs so the frame is longer. On the Wide Glide the legs sticks out farther than the neck. So if you put the Wide Glide triple tree and legs on a road king you are going to have a super funny looking machine. However you can put a 16 inch wheel and tire on a a wide glide front end cause I have done it myself, I put a heritage wheel and tire on my Wide Glide and covered it up with a Fat Boy front fender.

I have considered a springer, love the look of them and would consider one. In short, this bike is so ****ed up the only usable parts are the engine, which was built up, and the frame, which need welding. So $$$ is a huge issue. I have lots of parts lying around. Fenders, tires and wheels, footpegs, directionals, cables, etc. A springer, if I can find one for a reasonable price, would work just fine!

Lots of RKs that I have seen with new front ends also have stretched or raked necks. Possible that is why? I mean because of the triple tree differences? MAYBE I could go with a set of fork tubes from a wide glide mounted to my road king triples? Maybe I should just buy one from Ebay (RK front end) and hope for the best.
