Heated Riding Gear, Need Some Advice
#51
Some people prefer to ride less in the winter. I usually make more long distance rides in the winter. Last December OKC to Savannah and back in a week end. Death Valley in January. Saw temps of 7 degrees in Flagstaff, cranked up the heat and kept trucking. And contrary to what some think, I had a great time and will make plenty more winter trips. With proper preparation, I am more comfortable at 30 degrees than I am at 100.

HKMark23 - Your post is pure BS.
I started riding winters in the midwest in 1956/1959. In the same area for the past few years I have ridden on average in the Nov. 1 to Mar 31 months about 12K miles.
My standard is 20 degrees and clear roads. There is always that available in any given week. I have a passion for riding and find that there is little difference in comfort riding with heated gear and proper apparel than in a car.
I fully enjoy every ride that I do. You can stay in your house looking out the window watching the world pass you by. I prefer to be out there leading the charge.
By the way your worthless chart only applies to exposed skin. Unless you ride naked forget about it.
