Im trying to do the research and find the absolute best one-up seat out there... that’s comfortable, low profile and sleek, and not too outrageous on price. Also that will fit a Dyna Wide Glide.

What are your favorites?

Corbin and Mustang both make a pretty nice solo. I would say to stay away from Le Pera. I had one and it was like sitting on a brick.

And if you've never had a solo seat don't be surprised if you don't like it very much. I have found that sleek, sexy seats and comfortable seats are two different things. Most solos I have had are good for an hour or 2 at best. They look cool but not so great for all day riding.

 

I have never had a problem with a Mustang, I have had one on every motorcycle I have had.

 

The police solo is the most comfortable seat ever made.

 

I have a heavily-modified Mustang solo seat that has gel inserts, fancy imported leather, embossed skull on the seat, skirting, conchos, etc. It started out as a two-up seat. It seems to have the right blend of sleekness and comfort, but I wouldn't recommend it, as it wound up costing more than a La-Z-Boy.

 

Plain old 2010 Wide Glide seat. Haven't done any Ironbutt rides, but I have done a couple of 830 mile days, and at least a half dozen 500 mile days. It's worked out great.

 

Le Pera Bare Bones. I used a basic vinyl smooth one on my XL1200X, and I currently have a custom full leather one on my Softail Slim. I will be putting one on my ‘18 Deluxe as soon as Le Pera is done with the fitment for the new Softails.

 

Saddlemans makes a beautiful one up solo seat with plenty of gel. Sadly will not fit new soft tails but should have one out mid 2018.
