Default Gauntlet Gloves

The weather today here was in the upper 40's to lower 50's. Decided to go ride for a few hours. Had no idea where I was going but went northwest from the house.

An hour later I was in College Station, Texas and passed "Ranch Harley Davidson" dealership. Never been in there before and my hands were freezing as the temps had dropped since leaving the house. Decided to stop, hit the can and grab a cup of coffee.

While looking around I finally picked up a pair of HD Gauntlet gloves and tried them on, they felt amazing and warm as soon as I did. Ninety-seven dollars and a few minutes later I was back on the highway way more comfortable than before. Even though it's usually not that cold here I am seeing the value of having good cold riding gear.

I have a decent riding jacket with a removable liner, not leather but armored. It's plenty warm with a good thermal undershirt and combined light layers. Chest hasn't gotten cold yet, it was just my hands and legs. I always wear wrangler jeans when it's cold I add thermals. These gloves really made a difference.

The dealership was really cool, relatively new but small. Not like the other huge shops in Houston area. This store reminded me of what dealerships used to be like.

A fellow Texan here. I like my HD gauntlet gloves as well. They certainly keep the air from going into the arms of your jacket.

When its cold for Texas (below 55*), my Under Armour cold weather gear, jeans, leather jacket, gauntlet gloves and boots work just fine.

I lived in Houston when I bought my first Harley; an '88 Heritage with an 80 cu in, Evo engine. Back then, Houston only had two dealerships, Mancuso and Stubbs. I bought the bike at Mancuso HD. Johnny's dealership in 1988 was at the North Loop location and it was small. He could only fit three bikes on the showroom floor. But, it was a Harley dealership. I moved away in 1996 and live in central Texas now. There were some good times back then.

I have a pair of gauntlets as well. Wore them on part of my road trip in late September which took me above 7000’ and into the 30’s a couple of mornings. Comfortable and warm. Not cheap, but worth it.

Yep, indeed. Guess my Fox Creek gauntlet gloves get worn about as much as any others that I have. Just right for taking the chill down to 55 or so up to about 70. Warmer than that it is fingerless, colder heated. The leather of the gauntlet is so soft that they would fold down. Took them to a seamstress where she sewed stays into them so now stay up my arm.

Get some chaps for riding in the fifties and below. I often ride with the flannel lined jeans (Carhart). They are pretty warm. I had been eyeballing the HD Gauntlet gloves as well at $90. Earlier this month Barnet HD had them for $59 with free shipping. I now own a pair and they are great. I also have the HD heated gloves and a heated jacket liner. If you like to ride all year long, they are worth every penny.

Always have a spare set of gauntlet gloves in my saddle bags.I have had the same ones for at least 15 years but I purchased a aftermarket gauntlet glove not being able to absorb that Moco pricing.

I have a pair of gauntlet gloves and I love them. They're good down to the low 50s, which is good since I rarely ride when it's in the 40s. But I'd like to have some gauntlet mittens. I just don't see them anymore.

If you go to cyclegear.com and search "mittens" they have some nice ones up to 500 thinsulate. I almost went with these but they didn't have any reviews.
