Ever get tired of getting complimented on your bike?

From the opposite perspective...
I spend a lot of time checking out "Cruise-Ins" over the summer months, almost always on my bike.
One late afternoon, I spent 15 to 20 minutes drooling over a black '70 Chevelle SS 454... It was pristine!
The owner wasn't anywhere to be seen so I spent a little more time than usual checking it out.
About an hour later the sun was starting to set... it was to time to head home.
I climbed on the bike and started off the lot but was caught by a light.
Immediately to my right, that same Chevelle SS 454 pulled up.
Damn did it sound GOOD.
I couldn't help but look over... the driver shouted LOVE YOUR RIDE!

I don’t know if I ‘get tired’ of it, but since I get a ton more compliments on the Gray Ghost than I ever got on my old Street Glide I will say there are times I’d just like to park it somewhere without having a Q&A session. The standard ‘nice bike’ or ‘cool color’ is okay; the guys that ask 500 questions about it when I’m gassing up or trying to grab lunch, not so much.
But I’d be lying if I didn’t say I appreciate it when I see it draw a crowd when it’s parked somewhere.

When I rode the bike that a buddy and I built from the ground up in the early nineties, I used to get a lot of compliments on it, since it was not the usual Harley you'd expect to see.
Then I went to the most common bike in America...a black Street Glide. There went the compliments.
Fortunately, I couldn't give a rip about compliments. The FLHX fills my current needs for riding. So all is well!

I don't mind at all, and don't get tired of it. I put a lot of work into it. The best part is when the really old veterans talk to me about it. I had 2 uncles who were in the Army Air Force in WWII and didn't finish this in time for either of them to see it, but I always think of them when these old guys talk to me.

I would have laughed at this if I read it a year ago. But you're right. Since getting a road king, It happens a lot. I just say thanks. But sometimes you'll get someone that wants to talk for 30 min. I don't mind if I'm just out killing time. First world problems lol

Never get tired of it. I rode a Honda VTX 1800 for 10 years before buying my first Harley. I would get some compliments with that, or the uninitiated would excitedly ask if it was a Harley. They were always disappointed when I told them no. I never got the attention on the Honda that I get on the Harley. My first Harley was a bright red Street Glide with a cone air filter and Reinhart pipes. People used to come out of the woodwork complimenting me on that. Guys would be straining their necks riding by in cars. One time I lost my FOB and was stranded in a parking lot. Every person that walked by, male and female, complimented me on the bike. I'm glad nobody asked to hear it because I felt like a jerkoff stranded there. I don't get as many compliments on the 2017 Road Glide, but still a fair amount and definitely more than the Honda.
