the F-150 starts at $27k. Nobody's having a gun put to their head and being forced to buy a loaded F-450 Platinum.

Default Harley on a decline?

Some one on this site said Harleys have a rep of not being as reliable as a Foreign bike. How many Hondas or other Japanese bikes do you see that are over 30 t0 40 years old, have 100 to 200 and up thousand's of miles on them and are still on the road. Go to Sturgis and you will see hundreds of Harleys with that age and mileage. Just saying, Harleys are King

It would help if The Motor Company would place some of its Street Rods and Sporties in hipster locations, like coffee shops. Tapas bars, etc. A merchandising tie-in with selected Starbucks, for instance. A bike and a selection of cool clothes, boots, etc. on display. That and a website. Most H-D dealerships are located on the periphery of big cities, near the Interstate Hwy system. Have to wanna bike to go there.

Yes I agree with you. If Harley had a few of there bikes in shopping centers, Starbucks ext. like the car dealers do I am sure a lot of the younger crowd would go for them
Ps Also put the prices along with comparable prices of the other bikes

Everybody keeps saying that Harley's are "THE OLD MAN'S BIKE". And that's is why Harley is doomed! The young people want sport bikes! They'll never buy Harley. I say bull!!! I have never met anybody that grows younger. Plenty of guys on here, constantly stating that they started on sport bikes, but...... Now love their Harley's for what they are. Every new year brings more customers to Harley. I'm not saying they shouldn't work towards making the best quality bike. But trying to be everything to everybody is not possible . The buell, in my opinion ,was proof of that. Even the V-Rod sales were weak unless you count European sales. The young guys I talk to would love a HD, just can't afford one yet.

I belong to a metric forum as well, and they are saying all the same things about the demise of selling new bikes, except not one post mentions Harley. We focus on one brand, but it is an industry concern for Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Triumph, MOto Guzzi, et al. I don't belong to any BMW forums, but I bet the topic and sky is falling posts and blame are just as rife there as here.

Shareholders don't care what the used market is like unless there is a drought of used bikes. There is a glut of used bikes. They only care about new bike sales. The MoCo's job is to sell more new motorcycles and to figure out how to do so.

Put HD on a toilet paper roll and the price goes up 100%. Stock is flat and it is winter. Wait 3 months and all will change. V-rod needs to be reintroduced in a bagger . JMO

100 % agree. It's not going to double the sales but it will get it into the youngins minds what a cool bike looks like. You could have accessories for phone and a cup holder to show what can be done.

I like thay idea but I don't think it would sell. A kit maybe or special order yes.

Having that motor in the touring line though I like. Switch motors.
