Never broken 38mpg on any bike I've ever owned including my new one but then again I don't ***** foot them either, there's riding and then there's Riding.

It is not just the bike anymore. It is everything around us. every year I ride the same road on the same day of the week and month. One year 43 MPG, Last year 34 MPG. what was the difference you ask. Head wind was the only factor that caused this change.

2300-3000. 14 cvo limited. Never run it hard and never above 75mph. I don't think you lug it at 2300.

Fuel with ethanol? That can have an effect.

Don't you have the M8 in your RoadKing? Thought they were supposed to get better mileage.

I imagine for Joe Regular they get good mileage, I tend to ride mine like a sport bike. I tend stay up on the R's a bit more and use the gear box. Lotta years of hotrod riding habits are hard to break even if I wanted to.

The 120R in the SGS doesn't make power below 3,000rpm. Hell it doesn't even want to run below 2,000. When it's cruising it's magic and last trip to Oklahoma it got 46mpg.
