That was my desire from the beginning. I am off to see yet another specialist next Tuesday and he hopefully will have some good ideas on how to treat my condition to at least slow things down. I was a little reluctant to even post this to be honest, as I don't want anyone thinking I am "bumping" this thread to the top of the forum for attention. I am currently taking some strong meds so I may be reading the forum in the middle of the night or sometimes during the day, I have to admit the meds make me more comfortable but sometimes feel like a zombie, lol. At any rate, I wish you all safe rides and fair winds...............................

I must say thank you formally. I have lurked for many years, never joined. I finally did when I read your initial post. I get very frustrated when I read the nastiness, negativity and judgemental opinions that are being pushed out there(not just here). I always think to myself when I read trash that there is no way in hell that person would say that to another if we were all standing in a garage together. It is human nature to think what you want, but the online mentality is to just throw the hate. It really sickens me to log on to anything, even trying to read the news is just massive amounts of biased and hate. No one seems to believe in "To each his own" anymore.

My father just passed a few months ago from cancer, Vietnam Vet, biker. He rode many years until I was about 12 when he had a bad spill. He only threw a leg over a couple times since then, always made me little sad to see him give up riding but I understood.

Grew up with bikes, all kinds. He was actually painting his Shovelhead in the living room when I was born, due to being so poor he did not have a garage. Harley-Davidson, Triumph, BSA, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha we always had something sitting around. Motorcycles are an important part of my life, but sometimes we have to step off the bike and fight.

You can never truly know how much of an impact you have had on this world or the people that share it.

I will tell you the same thing I told my father the last time I saw him alive. NEVER SURRENDER.

To: HARD ON PARTS. Thank you ( sorry I don't know how to quote your reply )

I must tell you that your father was a true American hero in my eyes. I wish I had met him to shake his hand and welcome him home. We didn't get that recognition back then, which in large part is why I joined the Patriot Guard Riders. I never wanted to see any veteran go through what your Dad and I endured. Even though so many people on this thread have me hoping that there might be a cure for my cancer, the reality is it has spread too far and it's just a question of how long I have at this point. My hope is for as long as possible and the strength to take one more wonderful ride. Perhaps your Dad and I will sit and have a long talk when I join him on the other side. God bless you and keep you and your family safe.............

Sir, I know I speak for everyone when I say I hope you post here as long as you can. You have friends in all of us and we care. We'll ride with you right to that last turn off.

And hey! On a lighter note, maybe you will learn something along the way! All you need to do to quote someone is click on the "quote" icon shown here -

It's at the lower right corner of each post. Give it a try!

If you're interested, I have a Black Hills Road Report going here - https://www.hdforums.com/forum/road-...ack-hills.html

Some people like to see where they have been through someone else's lens, and others like to learn about new places to go. Or heck, some people are just bored and they read all the stuff in General Chat and it's better than watching the news. Either way I invite you along for the ride.

Hope it will be the first of many to come in the future.

While we're at it, the icon next to the quote is multi quote. If you want to respond and quote more than one hit the multi-quote, then and the last one just hit quote. You will see the quotes and you can respond as you want to each.

Sat, I know that I speak for many when I ask that you post here as often as you feel appropriate to let us all mentally take a ride with you on your journey.

By now you must know that you touched something in many, and we would appreciate the chance to accompany you as far as you would like.

Default Hello Everyone

As most of you know, I went back to the specialist today. My appointment was for 1 pm. Yes, I was nervous about going. So you know, I am not wheelchair bound and only need my cane occasionally, So I get there early and I am told there was a water main break and the doctor had to cancel all afternoon appointments. I did have two missed calls from them prior, but no voice mail, so I didn't associate the missed calls with anything to do with my appointment.
I was of course upset but did not allow myself to become angry at that time. However, what did make me angry is the soonest they can see me again is Tuesday, the 6th of February !!!!! Oh well, it is what it is I suppose. Just wanted to update you and say hi, and again thank all of you for the wonderful replies and support. I am treating myself to a couple cold beers right now
Take care and ride safe....... A lot of bikes went by my home on Saturday ( 52 degrees ) and it was music to my ears.
