Like Willie Nelson, I'm on the Road Again
Today I left south florida heading to NY via the Smokey Mountains. Did 385 miles today and I'm currently in Valdosta Ga. KOA. The tent is still packed as I'm in the "Park Model" for 60 bucks. Full kitchen, living room, bath and bedroom. No linens or utensiles. Beautiful day all the way. Locked the cruise on 80 and the Glide loved it. In the morning I head to Calhoun, Ga about 300 miles and another KOA. This time I'll be in a Cabin. No plumbing but very comfortable considering. I'll be posting pics to http://www.pbase.com/floridafredif anyone is interested. I'm traveling solo if your puzzled how I take my own picture.

Sounds like a fun trip.
I've stayed at the KOA cabins and they're pretty nice for a road trip. Back in 1995 my brother-in-law and I rode from Dutchess County NY down to the Smokey's via the Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a wonderful trip. We camped at the KOA in Front Royal and also in the Smokey MountainState Park. Are you riding the interstates? I just got back from a road trip myself. I leftNW Arkansas on a Thursday morning and rode to Chantilly, VaFriday night to me friends from NY. OnSaturday we rode around Skyline Drive and back to Dutchess County NY on Sunday. I spent the week in NY and lefton Saturday morning to get back to Arkansas by Sunday night. Enjoy your trip and be safe. |
